Referral Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Strat-Bridge is built on referrals. If you introduce us to someone we go on to place, we will pay you a referral reward. This policy sets out how that works, so there is no ambiguity on either side. It covers referrals of individual candidates; introductions of prospective client companies are covered by a separate Referral Agreement.
1. How to refer someone
- Send the referral in writing to any employee of Strat-Bridge, or to candidates@strat-bridge.com, with the person’s name, how to reach them, and a line on why you think they fit.
- We will confirm within 10 working days whether the referral is accepted. Acceptance means written confirmation — an email or message — from a partner at Strat-Bridge. Nothing is payable on a referral that has not been accepted this way.
- A referral is not accepted if the individual is already known to us — already on our database, already introduced by someone else, in a live process, or approached by us in the preceding 12 months. Where two people refer the same individual, the first referral we accept takes precedence. Our records are the record.
2. What you get
- The reward is agreed with you before we act on the referral, and confirmed in an email or message from a partner at Strat-Bridge. If no amount has been confirmed this way, no amount is payable.
- The reward is a single payment per placed candidate, however many roles or clients they were put forward for.
3. When we pay you
Payment in full is made once all three of the following are true:
- The person you referred is placed by Strat-Bridge with one of our clients, in a role we were engaged on.
- They have stayed past their probationary period with the employer — or, where the role carries no probation, have completed six months’ continuous service. No payment is due before this point.
- You have provided the payment details we need, and an invoice if you are invoicing us.
We will pay within 30 days of the last of those being satisfied.
Payment is subject to our fee for the placement having been received in full.
If you would rather not take the payment yourself, you can ask us to give it to a charity instead. Tell us before we pay and name the organisation — it needs to be a charity recognised as such by the regulator or tax authority of its own country, wherever in the world that is, and we may decline a nomination we cannot verify or are not comfortable making. Everything else in this section still applies: the same amount, at the same point, on the same conditions, and once the gift is made it cannot be reversed. We give as Strat-Bridge. The gift is not eligible for Gift Aid or its equivalents elsewhere, and choosing this option may not change your own tax position on the reward — that is for you to take advice on.
4. How long your referral lasts
- Your referral stays live for 12 months from the date we accept it. If we place that person with any of our clients inside those 12 months — including in a different role, or with a different client from the one first discussed — the reward is due.
- If the placement happens after the 12 months, no reward is payable unless we agree otherwise in writing.
5. When no reward is payable
We will not make a payment where:
- You are an employee, officer, contractor or agent of the hiring client, or are involved in or able to influence the hiring decision.
- You are referring yourself, a spouse or partner, or someone whose business you own or control.
- You are a recruitment agency, search firm or talent supplier — those introductions run under a separate commercial agreement.
- The referral or payment would breach any law, including the Bribery Act 2010, or the client’s own policy on gifts, referrals or conflicts of interest.
- The person referred asks us not to proceed, or objects to having been referred.
- The information you gave us was materially false or misleading, or you have breached this policy.
6. Confidentiality and your anonymity
- Referrals are anonymous. We do not disclose your identity to the person you refer, to clients, or to anyone else — unless you ask us to, or we are required to by law.
- We process referred individuals’ personal data as a controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, in line with our Privacy Policy. If asked, we will say their details reached us through a personal recommendation, without naming the source.
- Please only send information the person would be comfortable with us holding — name, contact details and background is enough.
7. General terms
- Referring someone creates no employment, partnership, agency or joint venture between you and Stratbridge Ltd, and gives you no authority to act or speak for us.
- We decide at our sole discretion, acting reasonably and in good faith, whether to accept a referral, whether to represent the individual, and whether a reward is due — on the basis of our written records. We give no guarantee that a referral will lead to a placement.
- We may amend or withdraw this policy at any time. Changes do not affect referrals we have already accepted, which remain governed by the version and the amount in force when we accepted them.
- This policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the law of England & Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. It should be read alongside our Terms of Business.
